Lake Powell 2008

Since we used my camera for the family pic this year I'm going to blog about it first. And it will maybe keep the rest of ya from yelling at me for not blogging ever.

This summer has been a crazy one - starting with Europe for three weeks and then Vegas and Lake Powell for a total of 11 days I feel like I haven't been home all summer! Then in between all that I've been trying to be the Chair of the Salt Lake County Democratic Party which is a whole new and interesting experience all together. THINGS ARE BUSY!

Another example of my busy fun is my wonderful experience I had today - my first day back from Lake Powell. I had to go to court and appear in front of the judge for not appearing for jury duty as I should have. I'll blog about that later.

Right now it is Vegas and Lake Powell. I'll have to do a flashback post for Europe. And I promised Kristin I would do a reflection on my teaching career. Ugh...I'm behind.

Anywho not last Thursday but the Thursday before Brandon and I headed down to Vegas for two reasons.

We saw Eddie Izzard do a GREAT stand-up routine and we hung out in Vegas having yummy food and seeing some fun stuff. I was most excited to go back to Star Trek Experience - which for me has been a real star trek experience. About 7 or 8 years ago -maybe more I went down with my parents and we ran into James Doohan of the original Star Trek - Scotty. I was also there 10 years ago just after the show opened and then was just there as we found out they are closing at the beginning of September.

THEN after that Brandon headed to Pheonix for work and I drove to Lake Powell for a week of fun on the lake with my family. It was a great time as usual - THANKS MOM AND DAD! We had some family bonding, some swimming, some skiing (for those who indulge), some eating, some game playing, and even some movie making (Oh yes, it was done again).

The Best - Amy ran into a bat in the bathroom of the house boat one night....thus becoming the subject of our movie this year - Batman: The Dark Night (not knight)

The Worst - every night it was HOT - I generally was sleeping in a pool of my own sweat. Awesome.

Our first campsite was in the sun most the day and our second the shade all the day. The sun was nice because it was perfect swimming weather - the shade was nice because it wasn't so darn hot!

Here are some highlights
