Ugh....
There is no better word.
I got to my flight in SLC on time and sat a few feet away from the gate while they de-iced and dealt with a "mechanical" issue.
I watched as my layover time in Minneapolis was being slowly whittled away.
Finally we take off - get into Minneapolis - I have 1 minute to make my connecting flight.
The flight attendant gave a list of flights that were holding - mine was not one of them.
I ran...I made it....my bag apparently didn't.
I waited for my bag after being assured by the agent that it was coming - just late - for one hour.
Nothing - finally we find it was on the following flight. I left the airport with the word that it might be delivered tonight
I get to the hotel and begin my program by meeting the teachers - dressed in tattered jeans and a casual shirt. Awesome.
I met my kids - ugh - it reminded me a bit as to why I'm not teaching anymore.
My bag finally showed up at 11:30. I'm now in my room trying to motivate myself to go to sleep - but what is keeping me from going to sleep is the idea that tomorrow is going to be a doozy.
One word - COLD.
The highlight is we are going to a concert on the mall which includes Bono from U2, Beyonce and Bruce Springsteen. But it will be outdoors and we have to stay with our kids. Joy.
What did I miss because I'm stuck teaching today? Got a text from Donald telling me he'd like me to come to a lunch tomorrow with Terry Mcauliffe, former chairman of the DNC. Also an event that Bill Clinton was going to be at. Can't - have to be with kids. Ugh.
So what is the highlight of the day? Guess who I sat by on the plane from Minneapolis to DC?
The woman who created Wee Sing Silly Songs.....AWESOME! She was very nice - and a Democrat to boot! She gave me a business card and signed the back. Oh the nights I fell asleep listening to that as a kid! Very fun!
Peace out for the night...
sounds like your trip is starting out with a bang. just think can it get worse? It makes me excited that we are so close, if the weather was better and there weren't so many people in DC we might of just come visit.
