Yes, Mom and Dad, this is where you live...

From Rolly's column in the Trib.

Deal with it » Some Utahns just can't get over a Democrat being president.

An anonymous group is protesting an electronic sign at Mueller Park Junior High School in Bountiful because its recent messages contained quotes from President Barack Obama.

The sign, which also advertises events and achievements at the school, cost Davis School District about $20,000. It has quoted several famous people, including George W. Bush. But there was no protest until Obama's quotes appeared.

"Many of us Bountiful residents are perplexed by the President Obama commercial on [the sign]," said an anonymous letter addressed to Superintendent Bryan Bowles. "Quotes from current and active politicians should stand the test of time before they are used."

The protestors apparently didn't mind the use of Bush's quotes while he was still president.

Our new daughter

Not what you were thinking...

On Valentines Day - for Brandon's Birthday - we decided to officially adopt Lily.

The poor thing has had such a rough life living a good chunk of it being perpetually boarded. No one wanted her until she found us. She had been given all sort of food that unsettled her stomach to the point that she was constantly ill. She was scared of people and men in particular. She was aggressive to all other dogs and wasn't getting anywhere fast.

That was until the Thanksgiving before last when she came to our house "for the weekend."

She quickly bonded with Brandon and over the next year we brought her to showings at PetsMart every other weekend hoping she would find a forever home.

Over that time we began training her - taking her to group sessions with other dogs. Teaching her to get along with Lacey - which she does swimmingly now. We found her food and what to feed her and settled her stomach. We've gone months at a time without a vomit caused by bad food. She got fixed up at the vet for a fractured tooth which was causing her major pain. We grew to love her cuddling with us under the covers, her need to find attention any chance she can get. Her ability to lay all day by the heater to keep warm. Over a year we helped her teach us to love her. Over the last year we realized that her search for a forever home had really ended almost before it began.

She already was home.

Welcome home, Suh (our nickname for her - Lily - Pily - Pill - the Pill - Suh Pill - hence - Suh)

A walk down "memory" lane....

I remember watching this with my family during one of our two cable stints. I think at this time my uncle was living in our basement and we were stealing it from him :-)

Just say no...

My friend, Paul, sent this to me and it is hilarious! So I thought I would share.

Apparently the kid just got done at the dentist after having a tooth removed. Guess the drugs haven't worn off yet.

Don't Ask...

After seeing The Reader (A++ you should see it - although those of you squeamish over nudity be warned) there was this advertisement for the next Friday the 13th...yes, that is Brandon being murdered by Jason himself.
