Paris & Barcelona

For my non-facebook family (Amy) here is a post on our European trip!

On Thursday the 8th of October we began our long journey on a direct flight to Paris from Salt Lake. It was PACKED - as all our flights ended up being. Who knew there was such a demand to go to Paris from little 'ol Utah?

After managing to watch the dim-lit circa-1982 "big screen" movie on the front of the cabin of the airplane called "Imagine That" (it was a REAL treat, let me tell ya) I managed to fall asleep, as was the plan, so that we could have our first full day in Paris as soon as we got there.

We left Salt Lake City at 4:00 PM and arrived Paris at 11:00 AM the next day (approx. 3 AM SLC time). But our day was just beginning. We wheeled our bags through the narrow streets of Paris looking for our hotel finally finding it and checking in. We then begin our next few days of Paris sightseeing.

Highlights included historic walks of Paris neighborhoods, the Louvre, the Orsay Museum, and Sacre Coeur. For a couple of days Brandon's ex-roommate from Law School, Sabrina, joined us since she now lives in London.

After Paris we flew to Barcelona, Spain to try a part of Europe neither of us had ever been to. We had a GREAT time. We thought we would have down time that we'd fill by going to the beach, but instead we filled every moment sight seeing in this beautiful city. We saw 1992 Olympic locales, Gaudi architecture, Picasso and other famous/historic art, and a thriving city centered on the touristy shopping street called "Las Ramblas." We had a great time and it was hard to come back.
